Yes, SATA 300 drives are fully backwards compatible with 150 Sata ports. The speed that the drives transfer data over the port will be limited to the port speed (150 Mbps).

Buying new internal HD. Need a lil help?

There is a jumper on the back of SATA II drives where the power and data connections are to downgrade it to SATA 1. There is a diagram on the drive telling you in what position this jumper should be to enable SATA 1. I hope this helps.
